Super classy lawn ornaments

Hey, I'm employed as a dog walker. I do indeed pick up the crap that my clients liberally disperse around the neighborhoods. But it's not enough for some folks, I've seen quite a few signs in yards saying that no dog is allowed to do their business on their property. Fair enough. I can understand their request.

But some of these signs are ugly, tacky, and just in bad taste.

Oh yes, extremely classy. Too bad you can't order it depicting different dog breeds.

Apparently, it makes a great gift!

Here we have the classic.

Step-by-step instructions for the clueless dog owner.

And for the animal-hater in your life. This will really make the neighbors want to be friends with you.

Okay, so I can understand these signs (most of them) in public parks or rest stops, but people use them in front of their houses. For apparent decoration. I can understand the reason, dog poop is gross! But is a ceramic dog depositing ceramic poop on your lawn really making you look sophisticated?

A sign that simply reads "please clean up after your pet" is all that's needed. Some dog owners can't read, it's true, but most of us usually can figure out small words.

A pet owner thoughtless enough to let Fido poop in someone's yard won't be deterred by an ugly sign decrying the practice.

Don't those signs kind of defeat the purpose for not having a pooping dog on your lawn? I mean really?

If one of my neighbours put up any of those signs, my dear Best Beloved would spend an afternoon picking up every shit he could find (in our yard, and out on a walk, etc.)with a scoop and bucket, then wait until the middle of the night and then bury that sign in shit.

Then plead insanity and spend a pleasant 30 days under the bridge.

oh - I don't know...

my parents have a sign like your first example. They also have a supply of plastic bags in a container next to it in case they are needed :)

some of us are responsible dog owners and do pick up after our dogs... sadly a great many are not.

The supply of plastic bags is a good idea. I for one would love people to give me extra bags. But I dunno, I statue of a crapping dog, complete with crap, doesn't add to the decor, in my opinion.

Then again, I suppose one needs to be explicit in some situations.

Does it work?
